But of course, to me what's really give both the first and this film it's magic is the story and characters. All the characters we know are back and are their usual selves, but we actually see a sense of growth as we see each of their lives has developed for the better.

Like how Mal and Ben actually having a genuine relationship, I like they didn't make it seem too perfect what relationship really is as we see in the film both are trying to work things out as they've hit their down, this I feel really humanized the characters.

Really liked seeing some of the minor characters like Lonnie whom had a hand in things. But also, Jane and Doug, though that is one weak point of the film as those two aren't in the film that much nor had enough of a hand in things which I felt were lost opportunities.

But there were some good scenes with them. Like seeing Carlos asking out Jane which was sweet. Even a little of the sweet back and forth between Lonnie and Jay which was nice.

And of course, there are the new editions whom all fit in the franchise well. From Carlos dog Dude whom now talks, of course the voice is done by Bobby Monahan whom is a comedian I like.

Dude was fun he's sorts of like Jeb in "VR Troopers" as he delivers some really good lines and even helps the group out. Izzie is also a lot of fun despite only in the film a little while, she makes an impression all the same.

She is a little ball of energy that loves do cut and stylize hair but also is a person with big dreams. Even like the look of her as she looks like a live action version of the Rainbow Brite doll from the colorful clothes and hairstyle.

Really like her performance here as she really is acting on all cylinders. She's pretty much the main antagonist in the film or anti hero depending on how you look at it whom really steals the show, you could say this sequel could almost be her film.

She's got some good lines my favorite "I wanted to see "Ponyo", life ain't fair! Really like how smart, devious, and charismatic she is.

Una's character is also sympathetic as she's a girl that is unhappy and angry as she's along with the rest of the kids of the Isle have been given the short end of the stick in life and wants to find a get out of jail free card, to break herself and the rest of the kids out.

It still has a little bit showing once again how the kids from the Isle aren't bad kids just living under impoverished and broken circumstances.

It really makes you think about how many more are out there, ones like Izzie that have big dreams and dream of leaving the isle, let alone anyone in the real world that lived on the wrong side of the tracks.

But the themes of this movie are the importance of being yourself and staying true to yourself. Mal throughout the film is having an identity crisis as we see in the first part of the film she doesn't look nor is dressed as the Mal we know.

I remember seeing her and thinking where did Mal go, I don't mind the blond hair but let's face it it's just not the same, the purple hair is just her.

We see the poor girl is under a certain amount of social pressure with being somewhat of a figure along with Ben in the public eye it's made her insecure and try really hard in measuring up to the high expectations the public want to see her as and be but it's not what she wants nor us.

Mal of course takes a stand for herself and throughout the film is trying to find herself once more, from journeying back to her roots to coming back to live in the present.

The message in simply just be you all you, don't be or bend to certain expectations from others those are fantasies, that person they want you to be doesn't exist.

To just be you and act like you is the logical thing to do because it's the truth and is what really makes Mal beautiful.

Overall, I pretty much feel about the same as I do about the first film, it's a solid follow up. If you're a fan of the first film this is a sequel worth sailing to.

Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook's son Harry and Gaston's son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle once and for all.

Written by Disney Channel. This is a follow up to the first film and it's a solid one. The production value is pretty much the same, one thing I like is that we actually get to see a bit more of the Lost Isle give it a bit more depth, the Isle is a bit like the private world from "Escape from New York" where it's all dirty, grungy, and gritty but also strangely fascinating as it's interesting seeing how the bad fantasy characters were able to still create a modern day existence out of what little they had.

The musical numbers are good as usual, even though the music from the first movie and this isn't the kind I'd play again and again on my iPod, their still fun to watch and listen to sometimes.

The film is a bit more of an action adventure well sort of, as we see the characters actually venturing out of their comfort zone Oradon and back to the Isle, but also have to deal with a rival gang that is almost a match to themselves and a threat to Oradon.

There's a bit of action in this film, which is decent despite a bit padded. Like the sworfight at the dock with both Mal and Uma along with the gangs they control.

Sort of reminds me a little of the battle near the end of the film "Hook. And also, a super sized monster battle which was kind of cool, and makes sense as this is a fantasy world they live in.

But of course, to me what's really give both the first and this film it's magic is the story and characters. All the characters we know are back and are their usual selves, but we actually see a sense of growth as we see each of their lives has developed for the better.
